Off season and pre season trainning tips

OK so at this point it's a bit late for me to be doing off season training but I'm going to talk about it anyways here. To be perfectly honest, I've NEVER trained off season before this year, and I really have no idea where to start. That's why I went and got those training packages I mentioned in my earlier posts. After years out of the loop I knew I was pretty rusty (but still wrecked the park and showed up a friend xD ). So here on the Atlantic I have another month or so before the season starts and that should be just enough time to get through that painful and annoying stage of my muscles getting really sore. I don't know about you guys but some nights I can barely drive home even if I didn't spill.

So here is what I found for some off season training for snowboarders...

First up, cycling. I didn't quite believe it either (not being a health nut and all) but cycling works all the same essential muscles as snowboarding does, the quads, calves, and core muscles. Also it's a good cardio workout which is exactly the thing you need for high altitudes. 2 or 3 bike rides a week for about an hour is all you need:)

I didn't even know these things existed until 15 minutes ago, T-boards.
Same idea as a skateboard accept longer and has 2 wheels that pivot instead of 4 fixed axis wheels. This would be more for the actual technical training and can be a bit pricey, but super kewl none-the-less. They're all over Google.

Finally one last tip for today. Weight training. I absolutely hate weight training, but it is a necessary evil for me sense I have been away mostly for so long. The idea here isn't to get totally ripped so the bunnies trip over their scarves, but instead to help build stamina, balance and control. Use less weight and frequent slow reps, let the resistance work for you more than the weight and the only way to do that is to move slowly.

So I hope that helped out fellow shredders or shredders-to-be. I'll be posting up some more tips as I come across them and I'll let everyone know what's working and what's not.
Check out my post on here about the pro training packages too. I can't wait to get started on them!

Hoping for lots of snow this year! xD

From what I've heard from a few friends the farmers almanac says it's going to be a cold, snowy winter this year! I've been snowboarding for over 10 years now (I think, maybe 9) but I've never been this excited before the season starts. Over the past few years with going through college and trying to work off most of my debt I've only been able to go snowboarding a hand full of times each season.
Not this year though, this year I'm out of school, have a pretty good job, and a car that's paid for. I'll be at the hill every spare second I can get. Me and a few friends are planning on going to Marble Mountain in Newfoundland too. Not only is the plane ticket pretty cheap but we lucked out when one of my friends who ski's mentioned he has family just 15 minutes from the lift!!! It may not sound exciting because it's on the Atlantic Canadian coast but Marble Mountain claims they get LOADS of fresh, beautiful POW to shred up and my friends who have already been there have confirmed it.

S.T.O.K.E.D.

:D I can't wait!

I'm getting started as early as possible this season

I can't wait until some mad pow starts falling but until then I'm studying these 2 videos and working out like crazy. Pre-season training is critical if you want to take your snowboarding game to the next level. My advice, start now before the season gets into full swing.

This snowboard coaching system is transforming average riders into confident, steezy, park slaying snowboard prodigies!

This next one would have cost me a lot more had my birthday not come along, but definitely worth it. This package even has over the phone support for building a learning strategy!!! Plus DVD's, manuals, and even audio for tips out on the hill!!!
Shred up the park without wasting half your season training.
